| Here are detailed descriptions of each of the step sequences that are available for my boards: |
Half step = Motor moves in 1/2 steps with one coil and
2 coils energized every other step. This allows for
smaller movements of the machine. The torque is not as
powerful as the full step sequence, but it has smoother
acceleration and less vibration.

Full Step = Motor moves in full steps with 2 coils
energized for every step giving the best torque of any
sequence. This is the workhorse of drive sequences.

Wave drive = Motor moves in full steps with only one
coil energized at a time. It has low torque, high
vibration, and is more susceptible to mechanical
resonance. The only advantage is it has the highest
top speed, but due to the low torque you probably will
not see it. I do not recommend this sequence to anyone.
